Key-alike & master key systems
Key-alike and master key systems that put you back in control of your keys
Too many keys, nobody sure who holds what, and a lock change every time someone leaves. We design and fit key systems that match who needs access to what, and that can grow with the building.

Key-alike: one key opens several doors
Every cylinder is set to the same key. Ideal for a home's front, back and garage doors, or a landlord who wants one key for a property's external doors. Simple, quick and good value.
Master key systems: different keys, one key that opens them all
Each door or area has its own key, and a master key held by the owner or manager opens everything. Larger sites add sub-master levels, so a department, a floor or a cleaning team can open their areas only.
- HMOs and blocks: a key per room or flat, a master for the landlord or managing agent
- Offices and shops: staff keys for their own areas, a master for management
- Schools and care homes: department and corridor keys under controlled master access
Restricted keys stop unauthorised copies
On a restricted key profile, copies can only be cut by an authorised supplier against proof of authority. Without one, any key cutter can duplicate a master key. We recommend restricted keys for every master system.
What you get
- A survey of every door, and a plan of who needs access where
- A key schedule showing which key opens which door
- Cylinders fitted and tested, with keys labelled to the schedule
- Room to add doors and keys later without starting again
Questions we are often asked
Can you add my existing doors to a new master system?
Usually yes. Most euro and oval cylinders can be swapped into a system without changing the lock body. We confirm on the survey.
What happens if a master key is lost?
With a restricted system the risk is lower because copies cannot be cut freely. Depending on the system we can re-key affected cylinders. For sites where this is a real concern, access control may suit better.
Is a master key system better than access control?
They solve different problems. Keys suit internal doors and smaller sites; fobs and codes suit busy entrances where people come and go. Many sites use both.
