Things we check first
- What the grille fixes into: brick, block, timber or metal frames
- Whether the opening is a fire escape, which changes what can be fitted
- Planning or freeholder permission for front elevations
- How keys and locks will be managed
Questions we are often asked
Can grilles go on a window used as a fire escape?
A fire escape window must stay usable. Hinged grilles with a quick-release mechanism may be possible; we will advise on the survey.
Do you board up properties?
Yes. Security boarding is carried out by our parent company, Essex Door & Window Repairs.
