Security, locks and access control for care homes

Care homes need to keep residents safe, protect medication and staff areas, and still let people get out quickly in a fire. We fit and maintain the locks, restrictors and access control that do that, with DBS-checked engineers who work quietly around residents.

Doors that need controlling

  • Keypad and code locks on medication, sluice, cleaning and kitchen rooms
  • Paxton fob access on entrances, staff areas and offices
  • Access control on secure units, with fail-safe release and an interface for your fire alarm contractor
  • Master key systems with restricted keys for managers, nurses and maintenance

Window restrictors

HSE guidance for care settings is that windows vulnerable people can reach should be restricted to an opening of 100mm or less, with restrictors that can't easily be disengaged. We fit, test and replace restrictors throughout the home and record each one.

Working in an occupied home

  • DBS-checked engineers
  • Work planned with your manager around routines, visits and meal times
  • Doors left secure and working at the end of every visit

Questions we are often asked

Can access control on a secure unit still let people out in a fire?

Yes. Doors on escape routes use fail-safe locking and release when power is cut, and we provide the interface for your fire alarm contractor to release doors on activation.

Do you work in assisted living and supported housing?

Yes. We work in care homes, assisted living schemes and supported housing, including communal entrance access control and flat locks.
